If put on incorrectly the collar may pinch the skin and/or have a difficult time releasing when pressure is released. Hold the collar in front of you, the placement of the rings should form a letter ‘P’. These collars need to be dressed properly. Unlike the martingale, they will get much tighter when pulled on as there is no limit to the amount of pressure applied.
